Homeschool Climbing Club

Homeschool Club is a community-based climbing program for homeschool students ages 6-17 and their families who want to stay active, build friendships, and grow their climbing skills together. This session runs from August 24, 2026 through November 24, 2026 Each 3-month session begins with instructional meet-ups focused on climbing education, safety, and certifications before transitioning into twice-weekly community climbing meet-ups at Peak Experiences Midlothian.

Enrollment includes a full membership to both Peak Experiences locations, allowing families to climb during regular business hours outside of meet-up times. Whether your family is brand new to climbing or already loves being on the wall, Homeschool Club provides a welcoming environment where climbers and parents can learn together, connect with other homeschool families, and become part of a growing climbing community.

Who Is Homeschool Club For?

Homeschool Climbing Club is designed for homeschool students ages 6-17 and their families who are looking to build connections, stay active, and become part of a supportive climbing community. No previous climbing experience is required. Whether your family is brand new to climbing or already enjoys spending time on the wall, Homeschool Club provides an opportunity to learn new skills, meet other homeschool families, and climb together in a fun and welcoming environment. It's a great way to build confidence, develop independence as a climber, and create lasting friendships through a shared love of climbing and adventure.

What Do the Meet-Ups Look Like?

All Homeschool Club meet-ups take place at Peak Experiences Midlothian. This session runs from August 24, 2026 through November 24, 2026. Each 3-month Homeschool Club session begins with three instructional meet-ups designed to help families learn the skills and certifications needed to climb independently at Peak Experiences. After completing these introductory meet-ups, families can attend ongoing climbing sessions twice each week with other homeschool families.

Meet-Up 1 | August 24, 2026
- Welcome session with introductions, facility rules and expectations, and Auto Belay Certification.

Meet-Up 2 | August 26, 2026
- Free Learn the Ropes class with our instructors for both climbers and parents.

Meet-Up 3 | August 31, 2026
- Belay Certification testing for all climbers.

Ongoing Meet-Ups
- After completing the introductory sessions, families are welcome to attend independent climbing meet-ups twice each week. These sessions provide opportunities to practice climbing skills, stay active, and connect with other homeschool families in a supportive community environment.

Pricing

3-Month Prepaid Membership

$200 per climber ($180 for each additional sibling) and includes:
- Two weekly Homeschool Club meet-ups
- FREE Learn the Ropes Class ($45 value) for climbers and parents
- Full membership to both Peak Experiences locations
- Access to the gym outside of meet-up times during regular business hours
- Unlimited rental gear, including: Harness, Climbing shoes, Belay device, and Chalk bag

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if we miss a meet-up? No problem! Your Homeschool Club membership includes full access to both Peak Experiences locations throughout the session, so your family can continue climbing and practicing skills outside of scheduled meet-up times. If you miss one of the introductory instructional meet-ups, a Peak Experiences staff member can help get you caught up on any necessary certifications or information.

Can parents drop off or stay? For climbers ages 12 and under, a parent or guardian must remain on-site during meet-ups. Climbers ages 13 and older may be dropped off, though we highly encourage parents to stay and participate in the experience. Parents are also welcome to climb for free during Homeschool Club meet-up times.

Can climbers under 13 become belay certified? No. Climbers younger than 13 are not permitted to belay. However, they can still fully participate in climbing, instruction, and skill development activities. That's why Homeschool Club includes a FREE Learn the Ropes Class for both climbers and parents. This allows families to learn proper belay techniques together so parents can belay their children and safely participate in roped climbing activities.

Do climbers need previous climbing experience? No! Homeschool Club is open to climbers of all experience levels. Whether you're brand new to climbing or already comfortable on the wall, we'll help your family learn the skills needed to climb independently.
